Govt approves 20% DA hike for JKRTC employees | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced a 20 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees of the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC), demonstrating its commitment to the welfare of JKRTC staff. According to an official order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the hike was approved by the Board of Directors of JKRTC during its 87th meeting held on August 16, 2024. The order states: "Sanction is hereby accorded to the release of a 20% Dearness Allowance in favor of JKRTC employees working in regular pay bands/scales." The order further clarified that the DA rate, previously at 139%, has now been raised to 159%, with the revised rates effective from August 1, 2024. "All other terms and conditions will remain as specified in the earlier Order No. JKRTC/GMA/PS/J/457, dated February 11, 2013, issued with the approval of the Board of Directors during its 70th meeting," the order reads—(KNO)
